The average turnkey pool package starts at $100,000 and includes the following:
Pool
Structural concrete deck
Automatic pool cover
Salt sanitation system
Heater
Lighting
Automatic pool cleaner

How many different types of swimming pools are there?
There are three: cement/gunite, vinyl liner pools, and fiberglass pools. Leisure Pools are fiberglass pools.

What is a fiberglass pool?
A fiberglass pool is created from several materials for superior strength and durability. In particular, Leisure Pools are made from a vinyl ester resin, Kevlar® fibers, and many other components. With at least 6 layers of resin and other component materials, you can rest assured that your pool will provide the ultimate in strength, durability, flexibility, and beauty. A lifetime of fun is guaranteed!

What type of swimming pool is most popular?
Most people are familiar with cement/gunite swimming pools, but fiberglass pools are steadily gaining in popularity. This is because they are easy to install, come in many varieties and styles, and can offer lifetime savings.

What is Composite Armour®?
Composite Armour® is a revolutionary material developed by Leisure Pools. This patented process combines full vinyl ester resin with high-performance fibers reinforced with DuPont™ Kevlar® (the same material used in bulletproof vests), carbon fiber and basalt fiber. Testing has shown that this material makes the pool 111% stronger than a typical fiberglass material; plus, it’s more flexible.

What is osmosis, and how does it affect my pool?
Osmosis is the tendency of a fluid (generally water) to pass through a semipermeable membrane into a solution where the solvent concentration is higher. Left unchecked, osmosis will cause pool water to leech into the layers of your swimming pool, creating unsightly and compromising bubbles and cracks.

Leisure Pools, however, has come up with a way to prevent this by using high-quality ester resin. Because of this, they can offer their Lifetime Structural Warranty and Lifetime Structural Osmosis Warranty. Their method also gives your pool greater “flexural and tensile strengths,” meaning it can withstand the way the earth settles and moves due to ground movement and weather. Will a fiberglass swimming pool be more expensive?
Fiberglass pools from Leisure Pools are in the middle of the cost spectrum: less expensive than concrete/gunite but more expensive than vinyl liner pools. However, when you consider that vinyl liner pools often have to be repaired or replaced after 5-8 years, the lifetime cost of a fiberglass pool may work out to be cheaper than vinyl.

What are my options when it comes to fiberglass pools?
Leisure Pools offers 26 different models in 65 sizes, with more being unveiled every year. Pools are literally available in every shape and size, from square, round, and rectangular to pool/spa combos, Splash decks, plunge pools, diving pools, and more!

Can I choose the color of my pool?
Yes! You can choose from the Leisure Pools SMART Color Range. Using the world’s most advanced gelcoats, the seven color options shine like diamonds and allow you to pick the color that suits your style best.

Are fiberglass pools safe for dogs?
Yes! While you want to keep Fido out of a vinyl liner pool, as their nails can rip the liner, there’s no such worry with a fiberglass pool. Just make sure to always supervise your dogs while they’re in the pool for safety’s sake.

Are fiberglass pools rough?
Fiberglass pools provide a smooth, comfortable surface, unlike the rough, scratchy surface of cement/gunite pools. In fact, Leisure Pools has to add some texture to areas where people stand to prevent slipping, but the texture is not rough or damaging to the skin.

Can you use a salt water system with a Leisure Pool?
Yes! We offer saltwater sanitation options from Hayward. Click here to learn more. Furthermore, 90% of Leisure Pools sold in Australia (the home of Leisure Pools) are sold with a saltwater system, so you can rest assured that Leisure Pools are more than tough enough for salt water.

Will it take months to build my pool?
We offer start-to-finish swimming pool installation in 60 days! This includes everything, from digging the hole to installing the pool to putting in decking, a patio, and more. Your actual, physical pool is built in Knoxville, Tennessee and is probably already “in stock” at a distribution yard, so it can be shipped to your home in a matter of days. However, if you decide to put in a completely custom order, it probably will take about a month for the factory to build it.

Will my backyard turn into a “war zone” while my pool is installed?
It depends on what you want to do. If you want to completely make your backyard over, we will have to remove existing landscaping and remake it. However, if you just want to put in the pool, we can usually do this in a few days or weeks with minimal damage to your existing yard. Rest assured that we will always keep our workspace neat and clean, and will do our best to complete work as quickly as possible, so you can enjoy your pool.

How long does it take to put in a fiberglass swimming pool?
Again, we can completely remake your backyard in just 60 days. To actually install the pool itself, however, we’ll usually spend 1-2 days preparing the backyard, followed by a day or two of digging. Once the hole is dug, your pool will be delivered to your home and a large crane will set the pool in place. This, combined with installing the plumbing and other equipment, will usually only take a day. If all you had installed was the pool, you could be swimming in it the day it arrives at your house or the day after.

Is maintaining a fiberglass pool easier or harder than other pools?
Many people think that a fiberglass pool requires less maintenance than other pools. We can install automation equipment from Hayward to further lighten the load.

What’s the best temperature for my pool?
The American Red Cross recommends setting your pool at 78 degrees, which offers both health benefits and energy savings.

Where will my pool be made?
All Leisure Pools are made in the USA, at the world’s largest composite fiberglass swimming pool factory in Knoxville, Tennessee.

When should I run my pool’s filtration system?
Run it during off-peak hours, which generally are 8 PM – 10 AM.

How long should I run my pool equipment?
The filter system generally runs 6-8 hours a day, although if the water temperature hits 80 degrees or higher, your system might run 8-12 hours a day.

How much chlorine should I put in my pool?
To kill germs and prevent sickness, keep the chlorine between 2 and 4 parts per million (never below 1 ppm) and the pH between 7.2 and 7.8.

What other equipment will I need besides the pool?
Your pool will come with a skimmer, pumps, and drains. You’ll need additional equipment for maintenance, and you can also add lighting, water features, and more.

How safe are pools?
Safety is our #1 concern. We offer several features to help you keep your pool and swimmers safe:

The Safety Ledge, which is a small ridge built into the structure of the pool that allows young children to hold on and provides a step for less-experienced swimmers

A “Pool Education” session that goes over proper pool safety

We also recommend purchasing a pool cover, and we can make sure that fences are installed as per local building codes.

How hard is it to “close” the pool for the winter?
It usually only takes 30-45 minutes for you to do this yourself, although you can find a professional to take care of it for you.

Should I drain my pool for the winter?
No. Leisure Pools are designed to have water in them at all times. While you can lower the water level slightly, draining the pool can void your warranty. You can install a pool heater to keep the water warm all year round, and you can also add a pool cover to protect it and keep debris out.

Can I let the water freeze in my pool?
Yes! As long as it’s properly winterized, your pool will be fine with frozen water in it.

What warranties are available?
Leisure Pools offers a Lifetime Structural Warranty and a Lifetime Osmosis Structural Warranty.

What if I had a warranty issue?
First, call us, Northern Colorado Pools. We might be able to offer a simple solution for whatever your issue is. If we can’t fix it, you can contact the Leisure Pools Warranty Department.

I’ve heard that fiberglass pools can pop out of the ground. Is this a thing?
This is a very, very rare event. If it happens, it’s due to either poor installation or an extreme weather event (like flooding).

How long has Leisure Pools® been in business?
Leisure Pools was founded in 2000 in Australia. Kerry and David Pain, a father-and-son duo, made their first pool in a space no larger than a 3-car garage. Less than 20 years later, Leisure Pools is a worldwide leader with over 50,000 pools delivered in 22 countries!
